All non-fungible tokens (NFTs) using Shinsegae Department Store's own character 'Puvilla' were sold in one second.
Shinsegae announced on the 13th that 10,000 Puvila NFTs were sold out three times on the 11th. The Puvila NFT, which was introduced on the NFT trading platform 'OpenSea', was sold with Klaytn, a virtual currency. In won, they correspond to 110,000 won and 130,000 won, respectively.
This NFT provides access to the Shinsegae Department Store lounge, valet parking, and shopping discounts according to six levels. NFT ratings are randomly assigned and unknown at the time of purchase, and will be announced collectively on the 18th. NFT owners can enjoy department store benefits during the ownership period, and the benefits are transferred to the purchaser during the secondary sale.
Shinsegae will also hold an NFT offline event starting next month. From mid-July to the end of July, the Centum City branch will hold the Puvila NFT Festival and introduce temporary stores. A party for future NFT owners is also being planned. In the future, we will try to produce various products using Puvilla NFT and collaborate with brands and artists.
Earlier, in April, Shinsegae signed a business agreement with Metaconz, a domestic NFT company, and began producing NFTs. Starting with the 'Puvilla Society', a community that shares information on Puvilla NFTs in May, social media channels such as Discord, Twitter, and KakaoTalk have been opened one after another. As of the 12th, 90,000 people gathered in the Discord Puvilla community. This is more than the 58,000 members of the Meta Kongz community, the largest NFT operation team in Korea, and the largest among NFT communities traded with Klaytn.
