In March 2023, a large-scale offline NFT event will be held in Korea.
NFT Marketplace Playnom announced on the 20th that it will hold the "NFT Asia Festival," a global NFT event, with the world-renowned NFT gallery Superchief, at the DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) Art Hall in early March next year.
At this event, NFT art works curated by Super Chief Gallery and works by famous NFT projects in Korea will be displayed, and NFT-related conferences and various networking events will be held.
Super Chief Gallery is an artist organization founded in Brooklyn, New York in 2012 by Edward Zipco and Bill Dunleavy. It has been active in supporting underground artists in various fields and supporting them to enter the global stage.
Earlier, in 2021, the world's first offline NFT gallery was opened in New York. Since then, SuperChef has been said to have contributed greatly to the NFT market development, hosting the first offline events of market giants such as OpenSea, Makersplace, Foundation, and Quantum.
Playnom plans to hold a pre-sale event ahead of next year's event and hold a total of three NFT auctions from December to February through its platform.
The auction will showcase the works of three NFT artists from the Super Chief Gallery, the co-host of the event. Starting with Shavonne Wong on December 22 (Thursday), the auction of works by Equinox in January and Davey Perkins in February will be held. They are influential artists in the global NFT market, such as selling works through Sotheby's, and Playnom exclusively sells their works in Korea.
"Through this NFT Asia Festival event and pre-sale event, we will play a role as a platform that leads the growth and development of domestic and foreign NFT ecosystems," a Playnom official said. "In addition, we will be able to provide an opportunity for Playnom to leap into a global NFT hub."
