The distribution industry and NFT (non-replaceable token) meet to create an offline space that provides new digital content. Lotte Department Store recently announced that it will open "Next Museum," the first offline NFT exhibition space in the distribution industry, under the theme of "Physical+Digital," which combines NFT and "Physical Art" contents through collaboration with Ground X, a blockchain technology affiliate of Kakao Group.

Lotte Department Store chose Jamsil Lotte World Mall as the venue for its new offline NFT exhibition space. Lotte World Mall, which has emerged as a distribution mecca for MZ generation customers by continuously attracting various mega shops and introducing new pop-up stores, plans to implement new space contents such as the combination of distribution and NFT beyond shopping space and lead the digital shopping trend.

In response, Lotte Department Store planned the Next Museum to form a new platform where digital content and NFT can be easily experienced offline, and the exhibition hall was operated by Fine Art Gallery M Contemporary.

The Next Museum will be located on the second floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil on the 23rd of this month, with a main exhibition space that displays various works, as well as exhibitions of artists' NFT art products, brand special NFT exhibitions, and cafes. Lotte Department Store will connect digital and NFT works and art contents to showcase not only digital works but also real works and collaboration goods between brands and artists. It will also introduce various NFT contents such as F&B, food and beverage, and experiential content as well as fashion products by taking advantage of the distribution industry.

The first opening of the Next Museum will feature digital and physical works using fruits under the theme of "Fruit Island." The theme was set as fruit to show heterogeneous and diverse to customers by delivering fruits that are familiar to them through various media such as digital, painting, and molding.

First of all, Yoon Byung-rak, a famous artist, will participate in this exhibition as a master of apple paintings. Yoon will present not only new works but also NFT works for the first time at the exhibition. In addition, the company will newly implement the works of new artists, including Joo Jae-beom, CEO of Pixel Artist, physical works and NFT works that interpret them, and digital works such as Park So-hee and BBM, which are popular among the MZ generation, in the form of NFT.

Fashion brands and F&B brands that have recently emerged as hot brands for the MZ generation will also participate in the exhibition. First, it will produce T-shirts with digital fruit images and sell newly produced T-shirts, goods, and NFT products for the first time by the "Kim's Fruit" brand, which has a thick fan base. In particular, Kim's Fruit also presents events where customers can experience unique experiences, such as guerrilla performances performed on the spot.

Patisserie Fruits, a famous dessert brand in Seongsu-dong, will also introduce NFT for the first time along with the sale of bakery products. Chef Lim Ha-sun, a former Michelin three-star restaurant, will introduce a recipe for the new product "Apple Muscape" in the form of NFT, and the actual product will be sold only in the exhibition hall as a set with the NFT recipe. In addition, the exhibition hall will showcase new art products that link goods from various artists with NFT.

Customers who visit the Next Museum can purchase all physical and digital NFT works on-site. Customers who want to purchase NFT can purchase it through Ground X's platform, 'Klip Drops'.

Meanwhile, the Jamsil branch also prepared a gift event to commemorate the opening of the Next Museum. In collaboration with Daria Song, famous for being an overseas luxury brand Dior, Christmas cards and NFT works will be presented to 500 customers who purchased more than 100,000 won at Jamsil branch on a first-come, first-served basis from the 23rd.

Lee Seung-hee, head of Lotte Department Store's sales strategy division, said, "We developed this Next Museum to create synergy and give customers a new experience by applying growing blockchain technology and marketability to offline spaces in the distribution industry." "We will continue to contribute to the popularization of NFT and make efforts to become an offline platform that positively affects customers' lifestyles in various ways," said Lee.
