Lotte Information and Communication, an IT company affiliated with Lotte Group, will issue "Lee Dae-ho NFT" with its affiliated baseball team Lotte Giants.
Lotte Information and Communication announced on the 25th that it will issue an NFT as an event to commemorate the retirement of Lee Dae-ho, a star of Lotte Giants.
The irreplaceable token (NFT) will be issued to the winners of the photo auction for Lee Dae-ho's retirement uniform and photo exhibition. It is a limited edition image produced in the form of a photo card-type certificate.
The photo card features Lee Dae-ho's active career along with his retirement slogan "RE:DAEHO." There are four types: "Chosun's No. 4 hitter," "Giant's Eternal No. 10," "Giant's Pride," and "Lotte's Heart." It also contains Lee Dae-ho's autograph.
Lotte Information and Communication signed an MOU with a blockchain company in July and is planning to open an online marketplace where actual transactions are possible in January next year to sell various types of NFTs produced with Lotte Group affiliates.
"This NFT issuance is meaningful as a starting point for establishing an NFT ecosystem in the future," a Lotte Information and Communication official said. "We will continue to expand our NFT business in various fields such as sports and entertainment and membership-based tokens."
