Korbit, Korea's first virtual asset exchange, announced on the 11th that it has signed a business agreement with Blueberry Meta, a subsidiary of Blueberry NFT, a sports NFT company.
Under the agreement, the two companies will use the intellectual property rights of domestic professional volleyball held by Blueberry Meta to produce the players' best scenes as irreplaceable tokens (NFTs) and sell them at the Covit NFT Market. In particular, it plans to show scenes of stars who are active in the Dodram 2022-2023 V-League, including Kim Yeon-kyung, the "Volleyball Empress" who returned to Korea after a year, Yang Hyo-jin, Lee So-young, and Kim Hee-jin, who led the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics.
Blueberry Meta will conduct NFT sales and marketing with Korbit based on its existing know-how in sports NFT, such as making NFT cards, building landing pages, and planning utilities for professional volleyball players.
Earlier in July, Blueberry Meta held a professional volleyball NFT pop-up store at Hyundai Department Store's Mokdong branch to hold various events with volleyball fans. In addition, players Seo Jae-deok, Cho Jae-sung, Yang Hyo-jin, and Lee So-young's NFT have been sold out on the global NFT trading platform "Open Time."
Hong Sang-hyuk, CEO of Blueberry Meta, said, "We will work with Korbit to help fans get closer to volleyball fans by expanding related services so that they can enjoy various benefits such as participating in fan signing events and providing goods when purchasing NFT."
Oh Se-jin, CEO of Kobit, said, "I am happy to expand my choice to customers by introducing Blueberry Meta's professional volleyball IP ahead of the opening of the Kobit NFT marketplace, which is under renewal," adding, "We will try to contribute to the popularity of professional volleyball, Korea's representative winter indoor sport."
Meanwhile, Korbit opened the industry's first NFT marketplace last year and collaborated with Studio Dragon, Korea's leading drama studio, to publish NFTs of drama works such as Vincenzo, Mine, and Hotel Del Luna. This year, NFT passes in the form of tickets were sold at Ultra Korea 2022 and Zara Island Jazz Festival, music festivals held in September and October, respectively. Korbit plans to introduce an upgraded NFT marketplace within this year.
