The work of Kim Jong-ho, who has been photographing pine trees for over 40 years, will be issued as NFT (Non-Fungible Token) by Korea NFT Certificate Authority (KNCA). Author Kim Jong-ho is highly anticipated as the first artist to work with Korea NFT Certificate Authority.
The Korea NFT Certificate Authority is a place that provides confirmation and viewing of NFT registration, issuance of ownership certificates, etc.
It is an NFT registry that has patented technology to digitize real assets, hash them into NFT tokens, and register them on the blockchain.
After hearing a serious story about the endangerment of pine trees on a visit to Germany in the 1980s, Kim Jong-ho began to photograph pine trees all over the country in search of them. He has recorded over 300,000 cuts of photos over 40 years, covering a whopping 3 million kilometers in search of pine trees and habitats.
He devoted himself only to his photography work with a sense of duty to record even one more pine tree before it was destroyed. He is an artist who insists on the analog method even in the digital age. He was equipped with a large format film camera, black-and-white and color slides, and 16 lenses, and he did not hesitate to take heavy equipment for every shoot. This is also a part where you can feel his philosophy that photography should be photography.
Dahae Kang, CEO of BEABLE Company, who prepared the NFT project for artist Jongho Kim, said, "I hope that this project will serve as a good opportunity for people around the world to share and enjoy Korea's pine trees, which contain the soul of our people."
