Global digital media artist Frankie’s ‘Jeon Tae-il 50th Anniversary Painting’ will be issued as NFT. The total project size is expected to be 150 billion won.

Korea NFT Certificate Authority (KNCA) announced on the 8th that it signed an MOU (business agreement) with the Frankie Foundation to register and issue 1,500 NFTs of ‘Jeon Tae-il’s 50th Anniversary Painting’.

The ‘Commemorative Painting of Jeon Tae-il’s 50th Anniversary’ is a work that artist Frankie dedicated to the ‘Jeon Tae-il Foundation’ in October of last year. Earlier, at the time of dedication, it became a hot topic by foretelling that it would be issued as an NFT.

Frankie is the son of the late Western painter Bae Dong-shin, who is called the pioneer of watercolor painting in Korea, and is a digital media artist who is attracting attention. The spiritual world of culture and art that he unfolds starts from individual concerns and encompasses the universe beyond people, nations, peoples, and the earth.

In particular, he is also famous as an artist who has shown steady interest in distributing art ownership and transparent management through NFT. Recently, he is also active as a CEO specializing in culture and art of ‘ARTi Project’, a digital innovation project through NFT.

The Korea NFT Certificate Authority (KNCA), which works with the Frankie Foundation to turn art into NFT, is an NFT registry that provides one-stop services from NFT registration to certification.

It opened in May last year and is laying the groundwork for the NFT utilization business. In KNCA, it is possible to check and view NFT registration and issue ownership certificates. In particular, it holds its own patented technology, digitizes real assets, hashes them into NFTs, and provides a service that registers them on the blockchain.

Kim Seung-il, CEO of Korea NFT Certificate Authority (KNCA), said, “I am thrilled to be innovating NFT works in the field of culture and art at home and abroad with Frankie.” He added, “We expect that Frankie will play a major role in raising transparency in the domestic NFT market and resolving copyright issues, including registration and verification of NFT works, while serving as a permanent advisor to KNCA. In the future, as KNCA increases NFT registration applications in various fields such as game characters, luxury brands, and entertainment, in addition to the arts and culture sector, we will work with experts in each field to solve NFT registration and certification issues, copyright issues, etc. to activate NFT.”
