The domestic NFT(Non-Fungible Token) registry office opens. It is noteworthy that the basis for the NFT utilization business, which has recently been attracting attention, is being prepared.
Korea NFT Certificate Authority(KNCA) recently held a launching ceremony and announced that it would start a one-stop service from NFT registration to certification.
NFT is a technology that utilizes blockchain and is a field that has recently attracted attention along with Metaverse. Each token has a unique value and has characteristics that cannot be replaced with other tokens. NFTs can be applied and managed to most items with unique value, such as game items, limited edition products, and artworks. In the meantime, digital creations can be reproduced infinitely, so the value of scarcity has been diluted, but NFTs can be applied to prove the value of ownership.
KNCA (CEO Kim Seung Il) is an NFT registry office that provides confirmation and viewing of NFT registration and issuance of ownership certificates. In particular, he said, “The most differentiating point is that it can digitize real assets by possessing patented technology, hash them into NFT tokens, and then register them on the blockchain.”
Digitization of real assets is carried out with a technology optimized for the nature of the asset among three methods: NFT electronic chip method using NFC technology, NFT packaging method that combines slab packaging, and method using NFT color QR codes exclusively for works of art.
NFT registration is graded according to the certification process to enhance transparency. For example, when only the documents are submitted, the ‘general’ grade is displayed, when the individual signs the confirmation, the ‘confirmed’ grade, and when the due diligence verification by the certification authority is completed, the ‘verification’ grade is displayed. It is a system that can receive the highest grade only when the actual certification authority completes due diligence, and reliability is secured.
Due diligence verification plans to secure public confidence by having a professional committee composed of experts in the related field. Through this, it is a policy to block in advance the copyright dispute in the NFT field, which has recently been controversial. In addition, it was revealed that KNCA is expected to resolve issues such as NFT copyright disputes amid the recent overheating of NFTs.
It is also possible to check the owner of a pre-registered NFT. The artist name, production date, owner, hash code, owner history status, etc. are managed with NFT technology and can be viewed by anyone. It is also possible to issue a certificate to confirm NFT ownership.
Kim Seung Il, CEO of KNCA, said, “Due to the nature of blockchain technology, NFTs cannot be tampered with, making it possible to manage ownership of digital assets as well as real assets,” and "KNCA aims to create a transparent and safe asset management and trading ecosystem using NFT technology.”
