Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Hyundai E&C is the first Korean construction company to participate in a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project in Korea.

Hyundai E&C announced on the 17th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Sandbox Network, a digital entertainment company, on the 10th for mutual exchange and cooperation in the NFT and metaverse fields.

Metaverse is a compound word of 'Meta', which means processing and abstraction, and 'Universe', which means the real world. It refers to a three-dimensional virtual world (platform) that is one step more advanced than the existing virtual reality.

Previously, Hyundai E&C secured Sandbox Network's Meta Toy Dragons profile picture NFT (Profile Picture NFT) for joining the NFT community and smooth collaboration in February.

Through this project, they plan to contribute to the creation of the NFT/Metaverse ecosystem, as well as explore diversified ways to use them to provide new experiences to our customers with Sandbox Network. In addition, they plan to continue discussing ways to collaborate on the Sandbox Network's NFT roadmap and utilization of the metaverse platform.

An official from Hyundai E&C said, “We plan to secure new capabilities related to NFT and metaverse through this business agreement”, and "As NFT is a key keyword in the metaverse industry, we expect that the issuance of NFTs in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the founding will be the cornerstone for entering new areas."

Meanwhile, Sandbox Network is an MCN(Multi Channel Network) company that supports various creators and online contents. It is concentrating on expanding its NFT business by combining blockchain technology with existing capabilities such as IP(independent intellectual property rights).
