Hyeongjiesquia, which was in charge of making shoes for former presidents during their tenure, announced on the 3rd that they had restored the shoes worn by former presidents with real objects and non-fungible tokens(NFT).
Hyeongjiesquia restored and unveiled the shoes of former presidents Roh Tae Woo, Kim Young Sam, Kim Dae Jung, and Lee Myung Bak based on the shoe frames and work instructions of past presidents kept by artisans. Former President Park Chung Hee's shoes were to be released on November 14 (September 30 of the lunar calendar), when Park was born.
The restored shoes reveal the taste of each president. Former President Park had a small foot size of 245mm, but he wore large shoes to make his feet and height look taller than he actually is, and the heel was raised to about 40mm. Former President Kim Young Sam preferred a design with a high instep and leather covering the instep. Former President Lee Myung Bak, who was born as a businessman, preferred a style with neatly falling toes.
Hyeongjiesquia plans to issue additional NFTs that restore the shoe design of past presidents and donate all proceeds from sales. The actual shoes are also planned to be donated to the Presidential History Museum, which will open at the Blue House on the 10th.
