In November of last year, American graphic artist Slimesunday (Mike Farisella) created a digital painting and uploaded it to an online platform under the title “The Last Stand of the Nation State”.
This work, produced by overlaying some images on Jacques-Louis David's 'Invention of the Sabine Women Les Sabimes', had an initial sale price of only $40 , but recently sold for $13,999 in the secondary market. In four months, the price skyrocketed 350 times.

In this work by Slime Sunday, NFT(Non-Fungible Token) technology, which connects digital files to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, is applied.
Existing cryptocurrencies can be exchanged one-to-one with other cryptocurrencies with the same value, but NFTs have their own uniqueness and rarity because they are linked to specific files. To put it simply, it is a similar concept to the fact that if you engrave a picture on an ordinary coin and make it into a commemorative coin, its rarity value increases and the price increases.
