Offline NFT art is also expected to expand the digital signage market

Digitization of various products and services is an unstoppable trend. Art contents are no exception, and many works are being distributed in the form of digital data. However, some people are reluctant to this market because of the characteristics of digital data, such as being free to copy and transmit and the concept of ownership being ambiguous. This is because profitability is uncertain for the artist and the value of the collection is uncertain for the customer. However, due to the spread of non-fungible token (NFT) technology, the digitization of the art content market has also gained new possibilities. This is because NFT technology has made it possible to prove the ownership and uniqueness of works on the blockchain.

This trend has also affected the display market. This is because, due to the nature of NFT works that exist in the form of digital content, a display device to appreciate them is also essential. Thanks to this, collaboration between artists, distribution channels, and display companies is gradually increasing.
An offline event was held that showed this situation well. Artist platform company ‘Ongroo (CEO Seong-Ik Son)’ and NFT writer ‘Mr. Unknown’ are holding a solo exhibition at Kwang-Hee Lee boutique in Yongsan-gu, Seoul in partnership with ‘Camel (CEO Yong-Seon Kim)’, a digital signage company. The exhibition was held on the 22nd of last month and will be held until the 15th of January.

Mr. Unknown is a writer who is active under the stage name meaning 'artist unknown' as the name suggests, and is one of the representatives of the industry that has entered the NFT market in earnest since early 2021. He mainly produces digital content based on 2D animation, and has received favorable reviews for presenting a number of works that humorously visualize the images of modern people who are tired of material civilization. In the first half of 2021, his work was auctioned off at 200 ether (worth about 490 million won at the time) on the NFT art platform 'Super Rare', and was recognized as the highest value among Korean NFT artists.
In this exhibition, titled ‘Metalepsis’, Mr. Unknown is presenting storytelling about the era of excessive meaning. It is also an opportunity to experience NFT works based on digital content at offline exhibition halls as if viewing general art works.

Meanwhile, this solo exhibition is being held simultaneously on the 1st and 2nd floors of Kwanghee Lee's boutique, and about 80 products, including Camel's digital signage and custom-made LED display boards, were mobilized. It is noteworthy that camel display products of various sizes and shapes are applied to display each work in the most effective way.
