Simmons Bed issues industry's first NFT

Simmons Bed (CEO Ahn Jung-ho), a sleep brand, will issue NFT (non-replaceable token) for the first time in the industry.



Simmons announced on the 13th that it will showcase the digital art of the 2022 brand campaign "Oddly Satisifying Video: Audley Satisping Video (OSV)" in NFT in partnership with three young creative artists representing the MZ generation. It is a "hip-like" meeting between Simmons, who has a thick MZ generation fandom, and representative artists of the MZ generation.


The NFT is based on "Pool in California" and "The Pump" among the eight OSV digital arts that have caused the so-called "Spacing Out" craze with more than 20 million views in less than a month.

 


Simmons will issue a total of six NFT works of three young artists sequentially on Upbit NFT Drops, the largest digital asset exchange in Korea, starting at 12 p.m. on the 15th, May Kim on the 22nd, and Cha In-cheol on the 29th. This NFT can be purchased as Ethereum (ETH) from Upbit NFT, and the sale price and work will be released 24 hours before the publication date.


Prior to this, Simmons recently released a teaser video of his collaboration with the first runner, Boo-won, raising expectations. Boo-won is gaining huge popularity with the public by projecting what he wants to express in the signature rabbit character (B.B Rabbit) based on his motif and showing it as an "art toy."


In this collaboration, the members exquisitely incorporate OSV California and air pump episodes into the B.B Rabbit, which features humorous expressions and movements, giving it a different charm that has never been experienced before. "I wanted to convey the comfort I felt after watching the strangely satisfactory OSV digital art video through B.B Rabbit," Boo-won said. "I hope you enjoy the NFT work reinterpreting Simmons OSV in Boo-won's own style."

 


Another artist, May Kim and Cha In-cheol, will also present unique NFT works that reinterpret the California episode and the air pump episode with their own eyes.


Simmons OSV under the theme of "Spacing Out" in line with the social trend of "mental health" becoming important became explosive popular with more than 20 million views in less than a month after YouTube's pre-release earlier this year. The public, who increased their intimacy with OSV through YouTube, later absorbed the meaning of "healing" and "healing" delivered by the video amid Simmons' platform expansion that encompasses online and offline, including TV, outdoor electronic displays, fairs, and exhibitions.
