Korbit, a domestic virtual asset (cryptocurrency) exchange, announced on the 24th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cheongdam Media for the sale of irreplaceable tokens (NFT).
The two companies agreed to sell intellectual property rights (IP) held by Cheongdam Media through Korbit's NFT Marketplace. The two companies have decided to fully discuss planning NFT content and publishing entries, and Kobit will be in charge of NFT sales.
Cheongdam Media has developed and distributed CeREELs, an original shortform animation content brand of various genres aimed at Generation Z, through YouTube channels to secure a global fandom.
Korbit will introduce NFT works using Cheongdam Media's story content. Oh Se-jin, CEO of Kobit, said, "I am happy to introduce Cheongdam Media's IP that combines music, storytelling, and animation at Kobit NFT Market. We will introduce NFT that can entertain users by combining the IP of Chungdam Media and Kobit's blockchain technology."
Lee Kwang-jae, CEO of Cheongdam Media, said, "We expect NFT's reliability to increase through Cyrill's virtual asset exchange, Cobit, based on Cyrill's various IPs," adding, "We plan to implement Cyrill's unique idea and unique NFT for collection."
Meanwhile, Korbit opened the industry's first NFT marketplace last year and collaborated with Studio Dragon, a leading drama studio in Korea, to publish NFTs of drama works such as Vincenzo, Mine, and Hotel Del Luna. In the second half of this year, the upgraded NFT 2.0 marketplace will be introduced.
